Transforming Community through Biobased Regenerative Systems

The GOAL Model

Biofueling Community Vitality

This is a collaborative business Model that promotes public-private partnerships for biomass waste recycling and renewable energy production. First demonstrated from 2005-2018, in east Durham in a Hope VI Community and petroleum Brownfield Site, it seeks to:

  1. replicate and
  2. achieve appropriate scale

integrated models for sustainable and just urban redevelopment. The site shared infrastructure, overhead and biomass energy waste streams to lower operational costs and improve efficiency, utilizing an old, derelict petroleum site, bioremediating the contaminated property creating jobs, training local community and building resiliency by keeping money local.
